F15 does it have the OLD head up display?
The 2016 - 2017 F15 BMW X5 appears to have ID6 i.e. the multiple tiled screen on the IDrive. In around 2018 they moved to maybe ID7 which was three tiles on the IDrive.
However in both cases it appears the Head up Display in the X5 is the old Head up Display type. i.e. The head up display in a 2016 5 or 7 Series is not the same as the head up display in a 2016 X5. The newer Head up display on start up has a single light white line as an underline below the speed - it is also a larger projection area and is more colours. The previous head up display is just an Orange or White Vertical Semi Circle and the speed etc - with minimal detail on navigation instructions. Did they ever put the new Head up Display in the X5? Or if I move from a G Series 7 series will I be going backwards in terms of the head up display? |

My 2014 f15 X5’s HUD looks like the image below (the image is blurry on purpose). Except the road sign &speed limit is white in the USA market. If you have diagnostic equipment that can run the HUD service function…you’ll see green, yellow, gold, blue, red, orange, black, and white.:

thanks for making the effort yes this is what I thought.
I did think the 2017 was different.... I wonder if all X5's have that one up to the G05 ... that's very strange. |
