Nope, it was the dealers mistake and they are giving him new 21" in a week or so at no charge. Originally he was settling for a white one that was on a lot that had 20" but he definitely wanted the 21" on the custom order... The dealership was very fair to us through this process and I'm definitely willing to work with them again.

Here we are!

Wow incredible! Awesome success story fellas. I'm not gonna lie, I had my doubts about this. The feasibility, the validity, and even whether or not this was true. You guys proved me wrong. A pretty sick fleet you have there! Congrats to you guys. Drive them in good health.

Not sure about the push for 21" wheels. The only advantage I see is looks. Disadvantages of 21s? Ride quality. Durability. Replacement tire availability. 20s are the best choice in my opinion.

Haha I don't blame you, honestly. This is all a dream to us. We are lucky to be in this position and it's great to share it with other BMW enthusiasts. Thanks for following the story!!!

That's why they are both the same price!!! I think that part of it is that we want to all have the same look.

I have 20" and you're right, they're more practical... but man those 21" look good...and let's be honest v little about a >$100k, 575hp SUV is practical to begin with. Why draw the line at the wheels? Get the 21"!!

Really? I had OEM 20s with P Zeros and upgraded to OEM 21s with Michelin Pilot Super Sports. The X5 definitely rides better with 21s.

Would you please explain what happens if you sell the car at a higher price than the remaining undepreciated value?

So if you buy a $120k car, depreciate $60k + $25k first year, your basis is $35k. What happens if you sell the car for $80k, do you have to pay income tax on the difference between $35k and $80k?

Also, is this available for 2017? And does the vehicle need to be an SUV or can it be a very heavy sedan?

Recapture is explained here: http://webapp1.dlib.indiana.edu/virt...s/p9460205.htm

The SUV deduction (up to $25,000) is for vehicles with a GVWR above 6,000lbs but without a large cargo area (X5).
