BMW X6 Leaking Under Passenger Side

Hi there,

I notice some leak under the passenger side door. I took a tissue paper, wiped the fluid and it smelled like Windex. So I've figured it's windshield washer. I ran the washer and more fluid leaked from below. I took a video after I ran the washer.

What could the issue be? A broken tube?

The car is a 2015 BMW X6. I recently filled it with washer fluid two weeks ago.

Have you had a look at the washer reservoir? my previous BMW E60 had a cracked one..which leaked...

however could also be where the tube slides onto that's cracked as well ?

I'll take a look, I have a third party warranty, maybe they would cover the parts. It's weird that it started happening as soon as I filled the reservoir.

it would make sense if the reservoir was previously empty.

If its under 3rd party warranty, would be great to see if they will repair it...

but if the excess is too high, and it is the water reservoir..might be a big job as I heard you have to take off the fender..

I'm quite sure it's the washer fluid reservoir. I've dealt with this on two F15's already.
Look it up in the past threads/posts, plenty of things said about it. And there are somewhat pieces of clue you can find on how to get the job done. So if you're mechanically inclined, you can do the job on your own. If you have warranty, better get on it before it runs out.

Note: The passenger fender "must" come off so you can pull the reservoir out, no exceptions. Then you'll have to mind the fender alignment upon reinstallation. So the job is quite intense even at the dealership.

Other reasons besides the reservoir itself is mostly on the fluid pump insert, gasket, and cracked rubber lines. All of those jointing parts can have failures. I usually just change everything due to the type of work involved.

You know what - looking at the photos...it might be just the tubes or pump...
which I believe you can access vie the wheel well ?

I rekon to have a look for yourself - jack up, wheel off, and remove wheel well cover and see what you find. Fill up the reservoir again and see if you can confirm where the leak is.

other then that..yeah..dealership or panel beater ?
