To remove just undo both bolts, twist the EGR valve left or right by tapping the valves metal with a small rubber hammer, then insert the bolts back in from the bottom. Give equal turns to both bolt, but the left side bolt (on picture) will do most of the work. The bolt shown on the left will go straight through, the right bolt will only go in so much so be careful. Once you've popped it out a bit, it's easy to just twist and pull out.
