Anyone cross shop with Tesla X 90D?

My lease is up in January and I am debating between getting x6M (or may be x5M) or Tesla Model x. If I get x6M, it will be my third x6 in a row and second x6M in a row. I think BMW definitely wins in the looks, but there are so many cool things about Model x (falcon doors, driving dynamics, autopilot) that it's worth considering. 90D is more expensive to lease than a fully loaded x6M. Has anyone cross shopped the two and where did you end up?

I just returned my Model X and I am buying a X6M......its a great car but the fit and finish plus other issues leave alot to be desired. 3- Model X's and they all had paint issues.

I was on the waiting list for Model X and was looking forward to it for quite some time. When it came time to buy I went to the test drive with my wife. We were by far the youngest people at the invited test drive (felt like a senior home orientation). Anyways, we took the car around and was extremely disappointed right away. It just didn't feel right... The best way to describe it was that it felt more like an art piece/sculpture than a family car. It didn't have any pockets behind the front seat, no rear entertainment option, seats were not comfy, etc... My wife didn't like it at all. So since I drive an M5 I told her she should check out the X6M. She fell in love with it... The way you feel when you sit in the X6M driver seat and you hear that roar of the exhaust... How can you not fall in love. SO in the end we ended up with the X6M and our 2 little girls love the rear seat entertainment system

Hope that helped, good luck!!

The tesla dealership is right next to my house. And I never consider buying one. It's impressive with 0-60 (when it's fully charged and all other conditions met, and you can only run it couple times ), huge center screen, no need for gas and instance acceleration, that's all I can think about the pros. I still prefer my M all day.

Thanks guys. Model X wasn't on my list initially but I like the falcon doors and I think I will really enjoy the autopilot. I also remember being surprised by some of the comments I heard from the BMW guys at the PCD when I was picking up my current x6m about Tesla. I asked them what they thought about the then new i3 and i8 and they said that Tesla S would blow all of the competition away. Hearing this from the BMW guys on the track was surprising to say the least. Anyway, I am going to give Model X a test drive and see how it goes. 90D is a lot more expensive and 75D is in the same range as x6M but slower so I think I know what I will get but will give it a try. I also considered S550 but after a test drive realized it wasn't a driver's car.

I admire Tesla for paving the way and being a pioneer, but at the same time their cars have zero appeal to me. I think they're ugly, the build quality is spotty, many of their design choices are dubious, and I don't think the technology is ready. Once the big boys think the time is right and they start going after them, they'll be toast. I think they're just a gimmick whose time will be up soon.

Does the Tesla have an exhaust sound?

That would be one of my concerns of buying a car of this caliber..
I don't really care much about getting from point A to Point B the fastest.. I much prefer going there with pure driving excitement.

Garage List
Yes I looked. Even with all the rebates and incentives, I passed on it.

I still pine after a Model S, but I don't think the interior will be anywhere near the X5M's level.

You are paying for the battery and other technology with the Tesla. If you are expecting a luxury car for your $150k, you are going to be in for a bit of a shock.

Hell even the i3 might have a nicer interior feel than the Teslas.
