DIY Lowering Spings

Hi All, is there a DIY with pictures on installing the lowering springs on the X5M?

Thank you.

Eric,

You can find AC Schnitzer's spring installation instruction and it explains everything.
Spring installation is very straight forward IMO.
But you have to be careful since it is involving your life here.

Should be straight forward as any other BMW. Make sure you get the proper torque specs.

The reason I was asking was about the rear links. Where do they go? I know how to install the springs. I looked at the AC site and could not find any instructions.

Out of curiosity, why is this DIY dangerous? Does this threat to life apply to all spring installation? I have a hunch the threat to life involves recoil from uninstalling the stock springs/compressing the new installing springs to fit?

Thanks,
H

No, the threat during installation is yours alone to burden, and the worst scenario, it may be one person casualty.
But, improper installation may threat the passengers and other road users. And most likely won't be just one person casualty.
