Opti-Coat
Considering Opti-Coat and have some questions:
1. Any first hand accounts of the benefits? 2. Any huge difference between Opti-Coat vs Opt-Coat Pro+ ? 3. How much should I expect to pay? 4. Is it worth it? I will be purchasing my F85 and using it long term. |

Also look into PPF (paint protection film, like XPel). I have found that it has been worth every penny in terms of protecting the car.
I have GTechniq for my ceramic coating. Jury is still out on its ability to protect the car. If I had to do it over, would have opted for CQuartz. |

Definitely do XPel. It's an amazing product. I had it on my last X5 M, and it saved my paint numerous times. For some reason, it was the A Pillars that took the most hits, and my windshield. The stuff is great at protecting paint, and it does self heal.

I opti-coated two cars (early 2013) and they both looked great years later requiring minimal upkeep. One was a 2013 audi S4 that I parked outside.
Just picked up my 2017 F85 yesterday and am considering doing the same. |

I am looking at Ceramic pro on a Carbon Black, you think it will be a good choice?
And advices on how to keep the coating in best shape, should avoid strong cleaners?

Depends on what you expect out of the product. If you like to detail and wax your car and just want something a lot more longer lasting then opticoat is a great product. I have it on all of my cars (consumer grade) and it beats waxing a car every other month hands down. I simply don't have the time anymore with kids so these coatings works for me.
It will not protect you from rock chips or swirls marks. All depends on what you are after. Pros and cons to both types of products. Alan

I certainly expected more from GTechniq but glad to have your comparison. Will look into another coating in advance of the cooler weather. |

Had OptiCoat on an M3 and that seemed to be the hardest/most durable of the coatings. That's entirely anecdotal. |
