Yeah!! First M car!
Hey guys! Thanks for all your help! I just picked up my 2016 X5M today!! Turns out it would take couple months for the 17s to be actually arrival on the dealership here in Canada but I needed a car rush. So oh well! I will post some pics later!
Just wanna ask what I get from the dealership was a handbook, keys and some key chains, I was surprised that the X5M didn't have the spare tire... What do I need to check in terms of the new car? What's the newest idrive system, map, other data I can update for 2016? Thanks a lot! |

I got spare in my trunk, I think they made spare tire standard and spare delete as an option.
Anyway, congrats on the purchase and enjoy it in good health!

Don't think North America gets these. When I did Euro Delivery on my M5 they told me if I wanted them to remove them from the car. They take them out at the port for shipping for some reason. And maybe the spare is not standard in Canada?

[Maybe you know all about what follows, so just in case]
Some further projects you may consider for your new X5 M, to make it even more extraordinary: 1. Learn about coding or find a reputable coder (it all looks far more difficult than it really is), for instance in order to: - silence ASD (fake engine noise added through your sound system - you can also unplug its module in the trunk) - view all kinds of USB stored videos in your display - remember your last start/stop setting - etc., there's a long list of possibilities! 2. Listen to your car music at max quality, as an X5 M (MB's still can't! ) plays lossless FLAC music files stored on an up to 128GB USB "thumbdrive" in the glovebox; it may require re-ripping (once & forever) your CDs, lots of good how-to info elsewhere in this forum 3. Consider attending a BMW advanced driving course; even a one-day one is an eye opener and great fun and it really will make you an even better driver (and you'll wear down their car, not yours, while learning & having fun). All in all, the X5 M is by far the best car I've ever owned, but it revealed itself as such over quite a bit of time, litlle by little. |

Congratulations I hope you enjoy it. Go easy on her and make sure your break-in properly. There are videos on how to adjust your seat properly by certified M drivers and search for how to break-in the car properly as its important to avoid any tranny issues.
Mine came with a spare tire, BUT i took it out since if i run into any issues with my tire I will flatbed my car to the dealership. I do not roam too far from my city. I average about 20-40 miles a day maximum. |
