exactly. even if insurance totals the car, they will still get good money when they auction it off.
also factor in the rental cost. that repair will take a while.

try and push for a total.
are you dealing with your insurance or the other guys?

Yes, 24k. However, they said one piece which I cant remember what he called is damaged and not replaceable or serviceable by dealer but is repairable.

My insurance since they only had 10k and then Geico will go after them for the total cost since he was at fault.
