Wheel spacers (rear) for F15
Hey guys.
I'm seriously considering installing wheel spacers on the rear of my F15 but i'm not sure about a couple of things. First of all i'm not sure if it'll void the warranty? I've heard that this is dependable on the dealer but there are always general rules for the warranty I guess. I'd go and ask but i'm currently overseas. Any ideas? Secondly, I would be extremely thankful if any one who has them installed would give me their best opinion on what brand to install. I'm looking for the best of the best as i'm very picky of what I install on my car. Thanks. |

In terms of brand, there are limited options for the F15 due to a different hub diameter than BMW cars. I would go with a reputable brand like H&R. |

Lack of responses probably because it's a hotly debated topic. Search for and pertinent threads.
Purists' view is that you're altering the geometry and putting more stress/strain in the hubs. Other side of the coin says that people have been running spacers for years without any problems, especially if going mild vs wild. H&R is your best bet as previously stated.

I'll bite the bullet here.
Realistically if the dealer does find a cause or reason to call you out on warranty work because of an aftermarket modification. They will. For more information to run spacers safely for the wealth of knowledge please direct yourself here: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=336209 My personal opinion, on our X5's if you are running OEM wheels and tires I suggest running up to a 12-15mm spacer and having them removed every 6 months or 8,000 miles to make sure the bolts and spacers don't adhere to the hubs and everything is round and true and your bolts are straight and true. Now if you change your tires to non run flat tires you will shave off some unsprung weight off the hubs BUT adding spacers increases weight onto the hubs which in return results in premature failure of hubs and control arms if you run 20mm + spacers for a prolonged amount of time and mileage. So if you are worried about BMW saying some shit about you adding them buy some new wheels and tires with aggressive offsets so you can be cool

My concern is that with the F15 it might be problematic in the future. I've known a couple of guys who've installed spacers on their E70 and their weren't any problems. Seeing how the F15 is a superior car I hope their won't be any issues. |

I've got run flats on mine and not a fan of OEM rims, and the problem is that BMW only offer run flats for their 20"+ if I considered getting other rims from them. I'm considering around 15-20mm, just need to find a way around it without removing my runflats. |

I run H&R +20mm Fronts / +30mm rear and it looks awesome with the M sport rims. No issues at all, (actually better handling IMO) and the dealer has never once brought it up. I use part #4075740. I think I read somewhere that it wouldn't work with the F15, but they fit just fine as the hub bore is still 74.1mm on the non "M" F15 models.

I do like dubsesd setup. Seems he only ran a 12.5mm in the rear and nothing in front. I haven't had the time to measure my bolts. Would you know on the top of your head what bolt size to get with a 12mm spacer?

I never had issue with warranty, even when I needed a new front wheel bearing, control arms, it was not brought up, nor when I had problems with my rear suspension. Only time they ever brought it up was when my brakes needed to replaced, the dealer says they seized onto the hub.
