I've managed to get hold of my BMW AG order number for my X5 as well as my BMW UK order reference though I'm frustrated to find out that the bmwusa.com website fails to recognize either and the nice lady on the USA 1-800 number came up with zilch too!

BMW UK customer services tell me my status is 1100...not much hope yet! I guess until it gets to 5000 onwards nothing is definite.

What's the difference between 1100 and 1200?

Found these status details:

0000 Cancelled
0037 Model or Feature Unavailable
0077 No Quota Available
0097qq No Current Event Allocated
0500 Cannot be Scheduled

1100 Scheduled
1200 Scheduled for Production
5000 Confirmed for Production
5050 Chassis Number Allocated
5055 Confirmed by Production Control

5100 Bodyshop Start
5190 Bodyshop Complete
5200 Paintshop Start
5270 Paintshop Complete
5300 Pre-Assembly Start
5400 Assembly Start
5500 Assembly Complete

6000 Transfer to Distribution
8200 Released to Carrier
9000 Departed Plant
9615/35/45 In Storage
9610/20/30/40/50/60 In Transit
9800 Arrived Dealer

Hope not for all uk orders - just agreed 3 year corporate lease and waiting for allocated dealership to confirm delivery which requires to be early October

On Saturday I was in the dealer to complete the paper work ahead of expected delivery in a couple of weeks and the business manager said demand is such that BMW UK has withdrawn all special deals/discounts for the F15.
If any dealer is caught discounting or incentivising the F15 they won't get any stock.
Looks like I ordered my car at the right time for once

I talked to a BMW USA Finance guy ( whilst on BMW Munich Prem tour). Employees finance/lease as terms are great. Not allowed on X3 & X5 due to high demand.

Owners manual pg 99

Ambient light

Depending on the equipment, the lighting can
be adjusted in the interior for some lights.
Selecting color scheme
1. "Settings"
2. "Lighting"
3. "Lighting design"
4. Select the desired setting.

If the color scheme of the ensemble is selected
and the welcome lamps are activated, the welcome
lamps are displayed in the color of the
ensemble when the vehicle is unlocked.

To deactivate the ambient light: "Off".

Order confirmed today with expected delivery 18th September so 12 month delivery seems a bit of scaremongering!

Unfortunately my dealer never gave me the info to be able to watch its production status, but I have been informed it was status 5500 (Production complete) as of 4/16.

Anyone have any idea approximately how long it takes to go from 5500 to 9000 (Departed Plant)? I'm practically foaming at the bit here, and the old ball and chain (F10) is starting to act up.

Seems to be the case. Also just noticed that drivethedeal.com doesn't show BMW anymore. Demand must be really high for all discounts to be removed.

Anyone from the UK ordered in the last month and managed to get a discount?

I suspect mine will be on the same boat. Finished prod cuti and dealer said it had left the factory. Expected deliver end May.

Anyway we can find out if the car is in that ship?

Worldwide demand for X3/X5 very high and factory has limited capacity. I have been trying to find a dealer with a new X5 and virtually no unsold stock. UK Dealers have to have a showroom model but can't sell it unless they can replace it. So large discounts drying up.

The Wallenius website updates the vessel tracking system by the looks of it once they have loaded the car on the vessel. Integrity is due to set sail on the 29th so hopefully tracking using the VIN will show "loaded on vessel" on the 29th.

Interestingly there was another ship, the Resolve, which set sail on 21st bound for Southampton. Was hoping mine would make it on that ship since it completed production on 14th and left the factory on 15th. But looking at the port of charleston website it looks like it carried, quite literally, a boatload of cars from Bremerhaven to charleston and offloaded them there but it didn't pick up any cargo from charleston for the way back. Too bad. Now will have to wait for after the last May bank holiday to get my hands on precious.
