Racechip settings

Hi,

Installed Racechip last weekend. Used RG-Sports DYI, great to have, thanx for that!
Took me approx 1.45h where about 30min was hesitating if I should dare to take of the MAP sensors (I was in a garage far from home). Saying that its tight to fit the Racechip sensors is an understatement.
However, I put on setting D right away and have put about 50 miles on the car since. No CEL, pure fun.
Now to my question.
Has anyone used setting E and if so, how big is the difference to D?

You really need to monitor your peak boost as each car, location, etc is different. I would not exceed 21psi for part breakage and to give yourself a 2 psi cushion before you leave the factory mapping (23ish psi). DashCommand is your friend. D happens to peak at 21psi on mine fwiw.

Did you log that peak 21psi during the summer or winter months? I think peak boost can change depending on weather. If it was peaking 21 during the winter it could be more when it's 95 and humid out.

Correct me if I'm wrong. This is how the N54 worked on my old 335i. During the winter peak boost would drop by 2-3psi.

In DashCommand is it the meter reading BST/VAC or is it somewhere else to look for the boost reading?

Logged it today at 20.17 as max Psi boost.

Its cold weather here now with 0.5C (33F)
So, Iīm probably around where the safety zone for 2Psi below factory map starts.
Thinking about putting it up one notch to E and log a few runs there though.

Do you know the Volumetric Efficiency for this engine?
I set it to 85% as an estimate.

Put it up one notch today and am now at setting E. I logged maybe 20 runs in different gears and didnīt come over 20.3 Psi. Canīt feel any difference from D to be honest.
