Clicking noise when steering?

So,

I've noticed that my car makes what sounds like an electrical arcing noise / clicking sound under steering and power (turn wheel stopped = no noise, +gas == noise).

The noise comes from outside the car, and is only obvious with the windows open.

Is this "normal"? I don't remember it before, but it's only been nice enough to drive with the windows open recently....

Might be a bad front half shaft (axle) or rack/pinion. No, not normal.

I have noticed the same clicking issue, but only after 1200 service, which was done yesterday. Didn't have windows done until last few days, finally cool in FLA. I thought it was pebbles imbedded in the tire tread. NOT. Gonna listen over the next few days and report back.

I'm starting to think the one click per wheel rotation in front is normal. Seems like everyone is having it. Some stated it might have to do with the 2-piece rotor design.

Could be a wheel bearing issue:

I'm having this issue. Had my windows down the other day and heard it. Identical to that video. Has anyone figured out the exact issue? Wheel bearings? Brakes? The brakes squeaking I've gotten used too since this is the 3rd car I've had with these exact same brakes lol.

That to me sounds like the same wheel bearing issue everyone has been having. Took mine into the dealer and told them about that issue and showed them the thread that you can find on the first page of bimmerpost. It has something to do with the bearings needing a spacer. Dealers should know what it is as I spoke to the tech about it before coming in and he knew what it was before seeing the car. Car was fixed in no time and haven't heard the issue since. Good luck shouldn't be anything to worry about once fixed. Others have said it came back but mine never did cross my fingers i dont jinx it.

BMW replaced my 16 with a 17 and with less than 2000 miles the noise is starting again in the front rotor /bearing area of my new 17.

What I noticed the other day though while my truck was parked and running it was making the same noise on opposite sides of the truck intermittently about every 40-60 seconds. It was the identical "ting" sound you here when turning hard. It was interesting....but I learned on my first truck they can't fix it, so unless BMW makes an official announcement on a definitive repair I will not be giving my dealership the opportunity to Dismantle my truck and scratch their heads.

For what it's worth, I had the clicking wheel bearing noise and it went away over time. I'm at 23k miles and haven't heard the sound in thousands of miles.
