2015 X5 35d diesel error code
Hi there - I have a 2015 x5 35d (late 2014 build). Original owner and I’ve put almost 60k miles on it so far. Quite low by diesel standards.
Over the years I’ve had a few issues with the car (turbo went out, suspension parts needed replacing, fuel injectors needing replacing, etc). Seems like a lot for only 60k miles but I’ve stuck to it. Most recently the CEL came on and my scanner is reading an error code P241F - something related to EGR? Car appears to be driving fine from what I can tell. If I remember correctly the dealership recently (within a year roughly) swapped something out related to the EGR under recall warranty. Can someone please shed some light on what this issue/error code is and how urgent or expensive it is to fix? |

Unfortunately, Diesel cars are not meant to be for city driving and you seem you do from the car's low mileage. Emission components will go out (needs to be replaced) faster with city driving.

Yes that’s correct, it’s primarily city driving. It started out as a lot of highway long haul driving for the first couple of years but now it’s primarily low mileage city driving.
