How to make steering wheel heavier?
I came from E93 which the steering wheel can used to train muscle, I really liked it, the whole car felt heavy and stable with the heavy steering wheel.
The one thing and the only thing I hate about the X5 is how light the steering wheel, I feel like I constant have to adjust the wheel, makes it hard to drive straight, my brother has the same feedback. The wheel does get heavier at high speed but it's not the same. I absolutely hate the electric steering feel on the X5 and I know this is where the future is going? I get no feedback from the road. Is this something adjustable through software or coding?? |

Said it before and saying it again. The F15 with suspension upgrades come with a loose and terrible steering. With the stock suspension, the steering is firm and exact, even too heavy in sport mode for anything else than straight high speed driving.

It's not only light steering but loose like you describe and not direct. To be honest I enjoy the steering on my VW MK6 Golf way more than X5. |

I have to agree that the F15 steering is way too soft and lack of feedbacks especially if you are coming from a sports car. :-(

The steering is about the only part of my '14 X5 35d I don't really care for. Too light. Over the weekend, I drove a friend's new X4 28i with the M Sport package, and the steering is much better than my X5. When I first got the X5, the steering felt better than my '11 X3. Seems like they continue to improve the EPS. I hope so.

like i had mentioned earlier i have the active steering, thought the steering was light during test drive and figured this would "tighten" it up, i also have the adaptive m suspension and the 20" wheels (don't know if it makes any difference" I actually think the steering options between sport and comfort are very noticeable and i actually use both depending on my mood and driving style and like both, the body roll in this vehicle is what truly bother me, i have a 2009 honda pilot i use for work and i think it stays flatter in the corners

Stock is too light without feedback, replaced it with dhp, steering feels a lot better and more direct feedback. Sport mode is very heavy. Still not as good as e70, but acceptable. |
