Been using redline 75w90 in both diffs for 50k miles now. For what ever reason front diff turns the fluid dark much much quicker. A friend that's a master tech did say that they see more failed front diffs then rear on original fluid. He said change it every 50k to 60k.

Perfect srybicki,
I too did notice the front diff oil was slightly darker than rear ; that’s exactly my Maintenance plan, change every 50,000.
Honestly so far the valvoline is exceeding expectations

Front diff is exposed to more heat and Carrie’s less fluid (iirc). It will wear faster.

Front: 0.91L of Hypoid Axle Oil G2 (83-22-2-413-511) a service would require ordering 2 of this part number (500mL)

Rear: 0.91L BMW Hypoid Axle Oil G3 (83-22-2-413-512) a service would require ordering 2 of this part number (500mL)

I chose for now to stick with the BMW recommended fluids as I am still under CPO Warranty through 2020 that was purchased prior to me acquiring the vehicle and in the event of any issues with the differentials I do not want to risk voiding the warranty. I also intend to keep the vehicle far behind that and will examine the condition of the fluids here at 60k miles and determine my change intervals going forward based on the results.
Thanks for that. Mine is a 2015 xdrive35i and ready to put 1200 miles in one day. It had done it about 5 times with zero issues, but now at 86,000 miles thinking a diff oil change would be a good idea. Did you have to use a friction additive?

Has any used SAE 75W140 - Liqui Moly - Full Synthetic Hypoid GL5 - 1 L?
This is what FCP is suggesting as an alternative but the 140 threw me off for the G2. Will this be okay ?

Yes Liquid Molly is fine. I’ve had it for a few thousand miles already. This stuff works good.
