30d diesel engine full carbon cleaning and timing chain replacement?

Hello everyone,

Thanks for adding. Greeting from Hong Kong.
This is my first post.
Mine is a 2014 F15 30D currently on 110k km (~70k miles).

What is the recommendation to perfrom full carbon cleaning to engine?
Is it a good idea to replace timing chain as a preventive maintainance? at what mileage?

Thanks again.

I wouldn't worry re chains till ~200k km, unless you can have them done for cheap, and/or excessive slack and wear have been detected.

Carbon clean up- again, based on inspection results.

Thanks. Do you know if there is a easy way for me to check for indication that it will need a carbon clean?

The easiest would be to use an endoscope, I imagine. Your intake and EGR will be dirty in any case, so if you consider doing it, I'd remove (and clean) those regardless.
