That is great news and I hope the installation goes smoothly. I love how the my did not fully put the dash back together and went for a drive when the screen in hand in the installation video.

Question to all members with Andream unit. After installing this unit when someone is calling you is their info still displayed on head up display on the windshield like their phone number or name you have them stored in address book? for example making calls can you still browse on heads up display ? Or selecting radio stations for that matter through there as well? I guess question I have does the heads up display still have it's functions with Andream unit or any other unit on the market currently, like the OE unit?

Head Up display is connected to the original HU, Andream unit is connected between original HU and the Central Display, so I do not think it should be any problem.

The iDrive functions are unchanged with the unit installed and can be used as normal. That being said it's likely (and is the case for me) that you'll use the andream side for everything since CarPlay is more realistic that way. If this is the case you will have your phone's Bluetooth disconnected from the car and connected to the andream. When you are disconnected from the cars Bluetooth none of the phone or music info comes up on the HUD.

I haven’t had any issues with mine. Only time there was a “glitch” was when I was using and charging my phone while temps outside were 85F+. Phone was over heating and causing the apps to close or go to black screen on the cars display

Afaik with Joyeauto you are stuck with using their external mic, whereas with the Andream and bimmertech units you can use the builtin mic for calls and talk to the car.

Not only that but the steering wheel Siri button works, backup camera shut off delay and no phone echo with andream.

Yea these products will continue to get better and better. And at a fast rate. I remember when this post started a while ago their was only a couple options to choose from.

And as people buy them and give feedback and they show to be popular they will continue to get better and more features improved.

We win! Early adopters rarely have the best options and end up having to pay more as they need to always upgrade

I know the nice part of the joy unit was no splicing or hacking into any factory wires but the use of the factory mic and factory controls like Siri button is a big win for the dream unit as far as I'm concerned.

Where are you guys getting Andream units from? So many sellers so can't figure out who is the seller who actually makes them. I am going to move away from my Joye Auto unit so I can get the OEM mic to work. By the time I switch over from JoyeAuto to OEM mic, person calling is already in mid-sentence

Visit the F30 forum for latest updated info. Some Andream boxes are being shipped are either A or B units. Plus the members are customizing the firmware to suit their own needs. Very cool
