Trade in for 7 series?!?
So BMW dealer called me few days ago asking if I want to trade in my 2015 F15 50i. I told them no as I just got the car in September. He asked me if I would be interested in a 7 series, which I said maybe if price is right. They are offering me $32K as trade in, when I paid little over $28K privately. They just took in a lease return on a few 740s and 750s. They said I can walk away with a 750 for around 35K plus taxes/fees.
I don't understand how a 2017 7 series that was MSRP almost at $100K already losing 2/3 of its value this quick? I thought Mercedes was bad but the S550 still holding value at 50-60K. Does anyone have any experience with the 7 series? I wouldn't mind one but if history serves me right, all 7 series had major gremlins...thoughts? |

I have both and have enjoyed both going back 4 gens.
Dealer wants X5 because SUVs are hot sellers, less people buy sedans now days, hence the terrible deprecation. BTW, S class is also more desirable on the used market compares to 7. If you can only keep one auto, I would say keep the X5 50i, better for NE weather, more versatile. In addition, not much mods you can do to a 750. |

Do you want a sedan vs. an SUV?
Clearly the Dealer isn’t making the offer to you b/c it’s in your best interest; they’re motivated by their own financial gain. Sure, the 7 Series is a nice looking car, but would much prefer the X5 to cope w/NE roads and NE winters than a sedan. Unless you were in the market for a 7 Series when the dealer called, I would not pursue any further. |

I was looking at both at the time of my purchase. 7 Series is a nice car but not much of a difference except the additional rear leg room. I prefer the versatility of the X5.

Yeah I'm not in the market for a 7 series at all lol. I actually prefer MB sedans anyways. I'm just so surprised on why the 7 series tanks so fast in price compared to its counterparts.
I'm sure the sales rep will call me first thing in the morning |

I'm banned from all Herb Chambers lol. I made a mockery of them last year and called them out. The main person at corporate told me that they don't want my business. They even refused to sell to my baby cousin cause I went with her thinking they might have forgotten. This all happened at Flagship Motorcars Mercedes |
