BMW F15 spear key fob issue

Hi to all,

I recently bought X5, F15 2015 25D German version.

The problem that I have is with the spear key. It simply doesn't want to unlock or lock the car. When I try to start the car it only works if I put the key on the steering wheel (marked place) otherwise nothing else is working. The battery is brand new, but I don't know how to enable this key.

I had the same issue. New battery. Then I double checked the battery, and there was a sticker on the new battery that I didn't see that prevented contact. Double check the battery.

I tried a battery swap between 2 keys and still this one is not working.

Did you buy a new battery? I tried a battery from another vehicles fob which worked, but would not work in the bmw fob. Battery needs full power.

Before I bought a new battery I swapped from working one to the "buggy" one. Didn't worked, so I went and bought brand new CR2035 3V battery.

The new key is only working I hold it to the steering wheel to start the car.

Holding key next to steering wheel is using the rfid from the fob. The fob is basically getting no power or a dead battery. Or faulty.

Guys I managed, I swapped the batteries and now both keys are working.

Probably I didn't install it properly. Thanks for all your help.
