Wireless CarPlay in 2018 5 series vs F15
In the press releases for the new 5 series, I'm seeing it advertised as the first BMW to support wireless Apple CarPlay. Does anyone know how this is different from CarPlay in the X5? I've been using CarPlay in the X5 100% wireless and able to access all features of CarPlay.

I was more trying to work out if there is something new here or just the usual uninformed journalism we've learned to expect.

The new G30 5 Series has Idrive 6.
X5 is scheduled for Idrive 6 around early to mid 2017 builds (Yes, Idrive 5 will only have a life of about 1 year) Back to the Carplay: If you read the BMW statement, it read more like them saying BMW is the first car maker to introduce wireless Apple Carplay. Not that the G30 is the first car to have it.
