Changes to the 2017 X5 model

We looking to order an X5, based in Ireland we still have no confirmation of the exact spec for the 2017 version.
My search thanks to postings in this forum shows the i-drive 5 a definite for the X5 M model, but no confirmation for other models.

My dealer shared me all documents but no reference for the i-drive 5, hence he still working on finding out If this is on for European deliveries! I guess BMW will venture on introducing the version 5 of the i-drive for only few models.

Do any of you folks have any feedback on the exalt list of changes for the 2017 X5 model.

There is a link somewhere. All professional navigation models get 5.0 idrive (includes new voice control software, touchscreen), new aircondotion liquid used (environment reasons), right side mirror not autodimmed, optional wireless charging for phones and wifi hotspot, Active Steering option discontinued, new color for non/msport models Apple Cedar, Apple Carplay an option, two new wheel colors (same wheels but different color options, one for non m sport is actually better looking IMO), for m sport 20" are available in black as well. That's about it.

The BMW.ie online configurator has been updated to include the 2017 F15 Model changes.
However for some reason it does include Apple CarPlay!!
I last week have ordered a new F15 and I can confirm that it includes iDrive 5 along with another few changes for the 2017 model.

Thanks 1230vani, some useful options the we moving from a 2011 X3 and the i-drive 5 will make the car feel new since most of the dashboard is not far off the X3 model.

BMW Cork, thanks for the hint, will work on building one! the Apple Carplay apparently useless according to Porsche users, never the less worth find out if this is an option and at what price! on the i-drive 5 I take it the same as the new 7 and 5 series, i.e. with gesture controls too.
By the way judging by the user name are you from Cork BMW dealership?

For F15/F16 there is no gesture control and no 3D surround view option, surround view yes. New 5 series uses idrive 6.0, so this one already a bit oudated

All X5 from August 2016 build have IDrive 5

IDrive 6 will be introduced sometime during the year 2017 in the X5

As others as stated the iDrive on the 2017 F15 does not have Gesture Control like the 7 Series.
It does however have a Touch Screen.
The 2017 5 Series is using iDrive 6!!
I believe the Apple CarPlay is around €300 but still awaiting confirmation from the Dealer.
Yes I am from Cork but not a Dealer.

Thanks, I take it no date for the idrive 6 yet, typical always new options around the corner but with no details or confirmed dates.

Looks like your dealer in Cork is more up to date in comparison to the one in Galway, with all new tech options it is worth waiting and make sure the order is spot on as we plan to hold on to this car for 5 years the normal length of time we tend to follow.
