2018 X5d Nav Destination Programming Glitch?

When the Nav is programmed for a destination and the destination is reached, the system does not 'cancel' the completed trip. It shows an 'arrow' symbol pointing backwards in the HUD as if the destination hasn't been completed and the target has been passed. I believe that it should automatically CANCEL when the programmed location has been reached. Is this a software glitch? Or 'do they all do that'? Has anyone experienced this situation? I'm going to visit the Dealer but wanted some forum feedback first. Thanks!

Just the way it's always been.

I have a button programmed for this purpose that actually "stops" the guidance: it removes the flag off the map and disables the arrow as a result.

Mine does the same. Thought it a bit odd at first, like you, but guess I am now accustomed to it. Certainly not worth going to the Dealer to have them fiddle with it.

And I don't think the dealer can do anything about it...

I only use Navi for getting to a major city or another state, so I use voice command “stop guidance” just before I reach my destination

I have used the 'speak instructions' feature to cancel the destination, just odd that it is not canceled automatically.

As you approach your final destination press down on the controller and choose “stop navigation”. If you travel frequently than associate one of the programmable buttons as alphaod did.

Great idea! Never thought of doing that.

I don't use radio station favorites. All my number buttons are used for my commonly used functions: start/stop navigation, enable/disable voice prompt, display 3D/2D map, enable/disable splitview, check tire pressures, etc.
