Coils and plugs

So Indy quoted me 440$ for parts and labor for plugs by themselves. When I asked for price of plugs and coils it brings it up to 900-1000. I have 46k miles so should I be changing the coils along with the plugs or is that not necessary.

Might as well since the current coils with have to be removed. I wouldn't pay the $900-1000 though to include coils. You can source them online for cheap unless your indy won't touch them since they did not provide them. Why not make it a DIY and save more money, there's a thread out there to help.

Holly shit these places are crazy. So almost $400 just for labor? That's crazy. Literally takes 30-40 minutes. Did it myself for I cant remember the exact price of plugs, but I think they were around $40 or $50

You don't need coils imho.

Indy shops look at us as a dollar sign. Find a DIY video and do it yourself.

If you're uncomfortable doing the labor, which I was, I bought the parts and and had an Indy do the labor. About $250.

Bought NGK equivalent to the X5M spark plugs off eBay for about $20 each and got the coils from Rock-Auto for $20.

You can purchase the Ngk plug on line from Burger Motorsport, there about $14 a plug.

Damn find a new indy. A stealership gave me an unsolicited quote to change my F30 plugs (only 6) for $280 parts and labor. That equals out to $370 if it was 8 cylinder.

Honestly, I wasn’t either. My friend taught me some stuff and the rest I read or watched a video.
I could never imagine doing an intake manifold swap on my E36 M3.
