3rd Party Extended Warranties
I've searched old threads and thought I found leads on a good aftermarket extended warranty only to find out that they don't cover X5s anymore. (i.e. Route 66 Easy Street and CNA)
Does anyone know of a solid 3rd party warranty company that provides excellent coverage? I'm looking to go exclusionary coverage with some add-ons. I've found that some companies coverages look promising but when you read the exclusionary items list, they're not so great. I'm looking at a used 2016 xDrive50i with 55k miles.

Mercury offers a 3rd party warranty and has 3 tiers of coverage depending on what you want covered. It was pricey though, I don't know if that was because I have the 50i as well or if it was just the X5 in general. I didn't bother getting it since I have CPO through 2020 or 2021 and will most likely upgrade by then.

I've done some research on this fairly recently (March-April 2019) for my 2015 X5D with 34K miles at the time. I was looking at the following companies with the listed 5 year 100K miles agreement. Pricing varied pretty greatly as some companies wanted close to $9K for protection... but most were around $5-$6K. I've attached the Endurance, Omega, and AA contracts which I believed to be the best when doing the research.
Exclusionary - 5 Year - 100K Miles (66,000 or 13,200/year 1,100/month 36/day for my vehicle) Endurance - $5328 Omega - $5303 (comes with some maintenance reimbursement perks) AA Auto Protection - $4907 Hi-Tech (offered by BMW Seattle and compares to their Platinum package) - (4 year - 48K Miles - $5077) not exclusionary BMW Platinum - (3 year - 67K Miles $6549) not exclusionary Long story short I'm going with no warranty and will instead save the money for deletes and early maintenance when the time comes. Hope this is helpful to you for comparison purposes. |

That’s a great deal!! Not to much would have to go wrong for you to get your money on that deal, but I agree with you 5-6k is steep for the possibility of something major going wrong.

EFG Companies. It was offered to me from the credit union when I got the loan. I kind of blew it off until the loan guy sent me the pricing. Looking back, I should've opted for the 60 month for an additional $900. I had their wheel and tire warranty on my CTS-V and they paid everytime, no questions asked. |

Does the car have to be purchased there and how good is the coverage? Major powertrain only or does it cover all types of other items? Thanks
