I guess you don't have your ride back.....be patient brother.
Haha, yep, still don't have it back, brother. I'll email you the full install information once it's completed with pics. Thanks again .

I believe an FSC code would be necessary to have and get your car programmed specifically for China, but at that point you would lose the navigation for US. It's very complicated coding with no one really having proper answers on the newer models, unfortunately, and I haven't had the time to dive deeper into it.

Congrats on your 6WB. Yes, Bimmer-Tech includes the coding for free when you purchase from them, but I can also help with the process and walk you through everything myself if you need help. I've already successfully coded about 5 members' 6WBs remotely.

Car progress is slow. I'm just playing the waiting game. We'll see .
Hi Opasha,

I have done the first coding last night - M Splash screen , but it seems like i cannot get the M splash screen fully loaded then it jumps to the legal disclamer screen. It only shows about 2 seconds.

Do you know how to reset iDrive or reboot iDrive. Thanks!

Also i have received the multifunctional panel, should i wait for Bimmer-tech to code for me or should i do myself.

I don't follow your issue with the iDrive. You do know that you have to start your car within 20 seconds after unlock after it has been locked for 20 minutes (more or less) for the splash screen to appear. Physical reboot is to hold in mute (radio on/off) button for 30 seconds.

I can code everything for you for the 6WB if you want. Very easy to do.

So tonight I was doing to some aggressive driving on back roads. Fast accelerating and hard braking, very windy roads. On hard braking occasionally I would get a lighting error on my idrive console, which coincided with the headlights strobing once and going very bright and shallow. I'm assuming this has something to do with VLD. It was like it couldn't keep up with the sudden speed changes and it was freaking it out. The error would go away after about 5 seconds. Anybody else experience this with the VLD activated???

This happens when you code the flashing emergency brake light.

Apparently, the X5 has a completely different wiring harness than other vehicles, so we can't just flip it on via coding. I put mine back to "regular brake lights."

VLD works just fine.

I belive it deals with adding 601 to your FA to enable TV function. I'm not sure exactly. I've done the reading, just never coded it because that function doesn't work in US. I can help you now though.

As FastMarkA stated that deals with the emergency brake coding. I've seen another member that coded that have your same issue. It is not related at all to VLD.

Confirmed by shawnsheridan , TV function also requires tv-tuner module.

I figured as much. Thanks for confirming. charles521, you need to check if your car has the TV Tuner module. Check with your dealer when you built your car.

I recommend doing the first coding step of adding 6WB to your FA first. Then installing (car must be off), then AC Power on to finish the rest of the coding once installed.

Sounds good, buddy. Keep me posted. No VO Coding until the end. So, simply follow the FA pdf to add 6WB to the Salapa-Element section.
