Canadian maintenance schedule - when is the first service?

I checked our X5d today and it said that service required since 360km (223mi) - somehow my wife missed or ignored the service message.
The car has 13.5k km (8388.5 mi), so two questions -
1. What's the Canadian maintenance schedule if there is such a thing?
2. How long can we drive without a service? Would another 1000km (621mi) be Ok?

I would do service but you'll be okay if you drive it more. Mine said 2000 miles since service, but I had done my own oil change before that so perhaps not the same.

I "think" the service reminder references 13,000 KM. I plan on changing the oil when I put on the Summer setup which I estimate the X5 to be around 6,000 km at that time. I think you'll be fine running over. I believe the 1st one is just an oil change and filter.

BMW vehicles purchased from an authorized BMW Retailer in Canada are covered by No-Charge Service Inclusive for 4 years or 80,000 kilometres, whichever occurs first. It includes scheduled maintenance work and services for your BMW (including oil, labour, and all necessary Original BMW Parts) specifically:
•Engine oil change including filter
•Service brake fluid
•Service vehicle check
•Service/replacement of air filter fuel filter
•Micro filter and spark plugs

My delearship gave me call around 2000km before reaching 13,000km. I drove until i was close to 300km before making my appointment. You should be fine to run over it. You can always check your oil engine level to see how much you have left.

Thank you all for your replies!

Ideally I wanted to have it serviced and swap winters for summers at the same time but it's probably too long to wait till mid April.

As far as it goes in toronto, temperatures will be around 10-15 degrees constant for upcoming week, which means summer tires are fine
