Euro license plate interference???

Just checking if anyone has a solution to the problem with the European license plate where it mounts on the front bumper the sensors keep detecting that there's something there and won't stop beeping. Is this something that BMW can adjust at the dealership that tells the vehicle there is a license plate installed in that location? It's kind of annoying. I remember an old thread about this issue but couldn't find anything when I searched. Thanks!

??? What issue ???

I have a European license plate and don't have a problem. Neither do the dutch, germans, french, spanish, etc... because all european license plates have the same size.

In England perhaps ?

Im in America. Not sure if they are coded differently here. For some reason it keeps detecting an object where the plate is

Why would you be using a European license plate in the US?

Anyway: Take a picture and post it here. Maybe you put some really huge license plate holder beneath the plate...

It's the front license plate. Wife's car, customized plate. I'll post a pic when I get home

If you mount the Euro plate directly on the bumper in the center it shouldn't be an issue. But if it hangs beow the bumper it may be obscuring the Auto Cruise Control sensor. Near the end of this thread is a good photo of the various sensor locations: http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=972683

It's quite common in the US in those states that do not require a front license plate (like Florida, where the OP lives) to put a decorative plate where the front license plate would otherwise be. There are companies that sell fake Euro style license plates that you can customize.
