Exclamation X5: Unlocking doors, opens tailgate

Hello!

I got my F15 back from paint services, and when I press the unlovk button from keyfob, it also opens the tailgate. I thought it was a keyfob problem, then I tried the other one and still the same. There is no option for that on iDrive...so I think it’s a programming issue...

Called my dealer to take my car back to service and check...of course, they know nothing about it over the phone.

Any clues?

Paint services or maintenance service? If the latter, was there any mention of a software update they performed? Def a software glitch since you tried both keys.

Check your settings on the "vehicle settings" there's a option for unlocking and locking preferences (i.e one click unlocks driver or all doors etc etc) and there was one where it says unlock button unlocks all and tailgate... Not sure if that's where your problem resides.

Except he said the tailgate actually OPENS, not unlocks.

They painted front bumper and rear right door...so, I don’t think they removed any compromising part... it’s strange... I just don’t want it to be an electronic issue..
