Lease is up- F80 M3 Individual is going away and the X5M is on order!!!!

My wife and I have a new addition to the family and with a newborn having two individual M3s and two winter cars just isnt as fun as it used to be. With hauling all the baby stuff and the cut back on track days keeping two M3s doesn't make sense so my Dakar F80M3 is going away sadly and we've added a X5M to the stable!!!

Im super excited to stay in the M family and can't wait to see the X5M!!! Just ordered last week and just got the allocation this week. Here is the build:

2018 X5M Mineral White
Black Interior
Carbon Trim
Executive Package
Black 612 21inch rims
Rear Seat Entertainment

Kept it basic and stealth.... wish I could've done a true individual like MCB or Colorado Orange.....

You will love it. Great choice on mineral white, do not see many X5Ms in that color.

I think they let you order Individual colors now for the F85/F86, right?
I believe only 1 Individual color for now, Azurite Black. Probably more when the next generation launches with the Spartanburg plant expansion that occurred for the X7.

not like on other models. you're limited to azurite for the time being. whether or not that will change for the next gen is unknown. the us plant is not able to paint the same colors as other bmw vehicles produced elsewhere. i had tremendous difficulty trying to get extended/leather dashboard in an F31 when they pump out the f30 with them in the same factory... i have to imagine it is downright impossible to try to get a color that the US factory doesnt use to get sprayed on a one-off F85/F86.

Congrats on the order. I'm coming from an F10 M5 (E90 M3 before that). Like others said, you will likely not miss the M3 especially considering you still have one in the household.

Please post pics once you take delivery.

e92doc, I also came from the 2015 F80 M3 and jumped into a 2016 X5M. Mineral white also with Red interior. It's a good car and actually stays clean for awhile after washing. Good luck with her.

Dakar Yellow F80 M3

e92doc,

Congrats on the Order!!!

I think I bought your 2015 Dakar Yellow F80 M3.
The carfax shows the source is from Burdick BMW.
I purchased this 2015 Dakar Yellow F80 M3 about a month ago with 17,948 miles from Barrington BMW in Illinois.

I started looking for a F80 M3 late last year and finally ran across a perfect sibling for my 95 M3.
I'm a proud original owner of a 95 Dakar Yellow M3.
155K miles and still running strong...

No going to lie to you.... there is not a ton of more space for car seats vs the M3.... I owned both for a period....actually I was very comfortable in the M3. The only place the X5M shines is in cargo room. Car seats suck dick. My kids are now forward facing so it's no longer an issue

The X5M is dope, you will love it get a proper tune and you are faster then the M3

Congratulations! If it is the same car then you found a gem as he always keeps his cars well taken care of.

You are not too far from us so hopefully we see that M3 driving around.

FYI, I was quoted $5,000 for a paint to order color on my X5M. I passed and ordered Carbon Black.

Was there flexibility with that option? When I ordered my '17, the only option given was Individual Azurite Black.

I wanted Moonstone.

The F80 M3 has the M Performance exhaust. Not sure how loud the X5M with Eisenmann Race exhaust is but the M Performance exhaust really sounds good.
The E36 M3 is still running on the stock exhaust.

According to what they told me, it could have been any BMW color. Once I heard the price, I didn't dig much further. I was coming out of a 2017 LX570 that I wasn't even 1 year into a 3 year lease...so I was already bringing "negative equity" (lmao) into the financial picture of my X5M so I didn't want to spend more than I already to had to.

Ah my two most favorite cars I've ever had. I wish I still had my '99 e36 m3.

Don't sell either of them.
