Wife came out of 2015 mdx advance pkg. vehicle is far inferior to the x5, especially in the way of the infotainment system. It sucks. It is slow to respond, locked out during driving, and maps look as old as my 2005 tl. No update in 10 years. Wife is in a 2017 340 Gran Turismo now and loves it. Has a ton of space and loves her iDrive 5 system. I went from 550 f10 to f85 x5m. While the f85 is a lot more plush in comparison to the non-///m f15 that you are looking at, but I am confident that if you find a well equipped f15 with the multi-contour seats, you will be very happy. Standard seats are kinda flat and shitty. Use a vin decoder such as www.bmwvin.com to see what the car is built with before wasting time to go see. It at a dealership |

So if you replace your tires with non-runflats, do you guys have spare? how do you address if you get a flat tire? how much would it cost to replace to non-run flats? |

You can sell (or you can just keep them as a second set) your run-flats here on forum sale section or craigslist and order a nice brand new set of Conti DWS06 All-Season tires here: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...eFrom=selectOE It's around $1100 with shipping (they can ship to your address or to local tire installer near you) - price is for 275/40/20 and 315/35/20 tires - bonus is that x5 looks so nice with that FAT tires |

Thanks for the tire recommendation, those fat tires do look good.
Here is the listing of the Msport http://cpo.bmwusa.com/certified/2015...4383?zip=19702 I dont know why they have listed it at such a high price. How much should this be for? |

Take less than half the ~$13,000 savings and a buy a real warranty extension, not this 1 year CPO stuff. White, M-sport too. Hell you could have it shipped and still come out $7,000 ahead, with two or three times the warranty life. No brainer. Last edited by chiplee; 10-04-2017 at 03:45 PM.. |

I just got a 2017 x5, I was shopping around for an SUV, and an MDX was on my list, I was also offered a $5000 discount, but after a test drive I couldn't bring myself to own one, its way too curvy inside and out, and its not a solid drive imo.

good decision
I had a 2010 MDX (purchased in 2012) for 7 years. it was a great car, a lot of room, a lot of features, good value, very reliable, drove pretty well. I had only minor complaints really. I was just going to get a newer MDX when I wanted a new car but the new model just looked too much like a minivan to me so I started looking at macans cayans and x5 x3. i ended up with a 2016 msport x35. The only regret I have is that I didn't do it sooner. Its like comparing a kitchen appliance to a driving machine. The mdx does everything like its supposed to, like a kitchen appliance. The x5 is just extremely more enjoyable to drive. The most notable difference is that the tranny shifts 10x better in the x5. the MDX shifted slow and I always felt it was in the wrong gear. The x5 really feels like a freight train on the highway. I haven't had it long enough to judge reliability, but I am assuming it will be less reliable and much more expensive to service. SO that's really the main point. reliable / value / appliance like vs you love to drive it.... my 2 cents.. |
