MPE Noises

Hey all... I have about 500 miles on my MPE and I've been hearing some noises after I shut off the engine.

I'm sure it's normal, but I wanted to get your guys' input and maybe try to understand what it's doing.

Check out the video...

Thanks!

If that is from after you drove the car then its normal the metals have expanded and is now cooling. It also happens with any muffler.

On the other hand if that is on a completely cold car - then we might have just discovered a first documented case of poltergeist

Gotcha. I never heard it on my stock exhaust. But maybe I never paid attention.

Thanks.

Mine doesn't pop or burble much so I'm hoping it gets louder! Otherwise I'm gonna be pretty disappointed with this mod.

I had the same reaction as you. For burbles you have to put it in sport or sport + and it gets a little better over time.

Correct. For the burbles, put it in sport or sport plus and after gassing it and letting off the accelerations it will burble and pop depending on how cold the exhaust is.

Yeah, I drive it in Sport+ all the time.

Very minimal burbles when I let off the gas and only heard I pop.

The sound is definitely deeper than stock, but nothing else has has happened yet.

Hoping it will break-in and start sounding better soon.

haha - nice i used to only drive in sport + but then my MPG was under 11 and ppl thought my car was broken lol. i'll switch back to sport + to join the party.

Cold start, in garage, sport + mode, windows down - first few revs you'll get that loud pop. haha this is from my experience trying to demo the exhaust for my friends. one time I demo'd it after the car was parked on the roof all day in comfort mode and it was some really weak shit.

How many miles do you have on your MPE?

I was reading some 3 series and 2 series forums and those guys were saying it takes 5k miles to fully break-in. What??????

I'm 2 months into my MPE+MPPK and I gotta say it's soooooo worth it!

Definitely noticed the exhaust is a lot louder in comfort mode compared to when I first had it installed.
