Oil change message
I live in a city with a nightmare stop&go traffic, that is killing any motor, especially Diesel.
A BMW specialist recommended me to change the engine Oil and filter at 15 000 Km or once/year, if I really don't want any problems. I have BMW package for free oil an filter change, but only when the car will ask for it at ~ 30 000 Km! I've changed the Oil and filters and the cars computer is very smart, so it had reset the message for another 30 000Km! At this rate, there is no way to have the oil change from BMW... This is a really strange situation! Any ideas? |

The service interval shown in your iDrive will adjust based on driving conditions, so it will account for your stop/go city traffic and ask for an oil change sooner if necessary. The minimum oil change interval is 1 time per year, so regardless of driving conditions it will show to change in 12 months at min.
And the service interval in your vehicle does not automatically reset when you change the oil. Whoever did that last oil change reset the counter... |
