Battery change under maintainance program
There is a SIB
http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/att...3&d=1422670196 to change battery free of charge for almost all F15 6 or 8 cylinders, gas or diesel at least every other oil change under BMW Maintenance Program. From this and other BMW forums, owners have different experiences. Some dealers do, others don't with various excuses. It helps all of F15 owners to know the numbers/percentages of battery changed or no for each of 3 categories 1. 6-cylinder gas, e.g. 35i 2. 6-cylinder diesel, e.g. 35d 3. 8-cylinder gas, e.g. 50i Notes: Thank Kzang and Aphaod pointing out BMW and F15s don't have V engine, nor 8-cylinder diesel, but I can't change them in the poll. So ignore V and last 2 options in the poll. Last edited by milkyway; 12-17-2016 at 02:27 PM.. |

Just FYI BMW's don't build V6 engines... they have inline 6's.

And just to add that my particular car which is the six cylinder variant according to my SA does not require the battery changes.

SIB about battery replacement can be as early as 2014, but it seems owners had and still have different experience on this. Here is the SIB http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/att...3&d=1422670196 Anybody has even newer SIB than the above one? Last edited by milkyway; 12-16-2016 at 02:59 PM.. |

Yes mine was changed without me having to mention it. It was automatically printed on the work order when the CBS data from my key was read.
For wipers I've been told you need to mention it or they won't change it (a simple, "the front and rear wipers don't clean well anymore," will do). Here's my work order: Also BMW does not make V6 gas or 8 cylinder diesel.

It seems 8-cylinder 50i doesn't have much issue to get battery replaced. We already have inconsistent experiences with 6-cylinder 35i, from Kzang and P1et.
