First yr F15

Hello Lads and Lasses,

Would any of you purchase a first model year F15? Or, would you ignore the 2014 and only look at 2015+?

Cheers...

Several reasons to go with the 2015...

1. Typically, first year models are plagued with bugs and issues..
2. 2015 model year was updated with higher performances

Thanks for the info gents. I am considering a 35i with 65km or 40m from a BMW dealership. I assume that it's a lease return. Waiting on some info like service records, etc. I have read that the 35d and 50i models have had their issues, but that is of no surprise and those models suffered the same fate with the E70 too.

My 2014 5.0 with 42k miles is running perfectly. Only issue I have is that now that it's in the 20s the windshield doesn't defrost correctly and is constantly a little "foggy". Haven't spent any time looking into this.

'14 F15s seems pretty good based on current owners' reporting on this forum. I would think the issues likely will come out around 4-5 years later. I'm betting diesel cars are more likely to have emissions equipment failures like the E70s.

You also have to decide if you want LCI and idrive touch controller which is later model years.

I steer away from first year releases, but the '14 X5 seems to be pretty trouble-free. That being said, I still got a '15.
