There is no reason to update BT unless you are having issues. BMW rolls out software to fix problems rather than bring new features. The ladder comes with LCI's and new chassis codes (eg, F015 vs G005). |

is there a way to check or verify the usb port is working correctly? i can plug a usb cable in and play my phone, but i have tried 3 usb/flash cards to install map/software updates, and none seem to be read. two of them give errors of incompatible software, and one is operation is not available at this time.
i am trying to install update 5074, and latest maps (2017-1). wondering if all cards are getting bad formatting from my mac, but i formatted one via windows, and one is my gopro card. im stumped and am wondering if this can be checked through software. thanks.. |

All are formatted as fat32. Good idea on the music test! It worked for m4a and MP3. Still won't read maps or software. Ugh. So remedial and I'm stumped.

UPD5074 = MN-002.255.071/TN-002.255.070. If I tried to load on my vehicle (MN/TN-003.013.001), I would get an error. Make sure files are in the root directory. |

C027 Runtime Error
Hi all!
About a month ago, I successfully coded out the iDrive legal disclaimer and coded Close trunk via Keyfob and inside button with no issues. Today, I was starting the coding in preparation to retrofit 2VB (TPMS) and successfully added 2VB to the FA. I am getting the sensors installed tomorrow. However, when I went in to DSC, BDC and HU_NBT to code them, I am getting a Runtime Error C027 when clicking on EDIT FDL after reading the CAFD folder. The same thing happens in all 3 modules. Any thoughts on what is wrong? Thanks! |

Hello everyone.
This has been a great website and has been very helpful. I have just purchased 2017 X5 with M Sport package. I have coded a few things without any problems. I am trying to code video in motion and have followed all of the settings in the cheat sheet. However it does not seem to have made a difference when the car it's driving over 2 miles an hour. The closest I have found some way of getting this done is h**p://naviks.com/i-24075600-2017-bmw-x5-x5m-f15-f85-idrive-5-0-video-in-motion-bypasstv-free-dvd.html (I don't know if this is real and if it works) Are there any new coding options for the 2017 models in regards to video in motion? Also, I coded the surround view to be enabled at any driving speed based on the cheat sheet. It works fine but it does go away after a few seconds at higher speeds. Is there another setting that can be used to enable it for a longer period of time? While doing research, it seems that a lot of people caution to not to code any guess work (which I agree). However I have also seen people recommending "try it, if it doesn't work then change it back" Can the car get damaged (where you have to flash it back) by trying settings? Can you always easily revert it back? (I did make backup of the original CAFD files) Last question, is there a service manual available for the vehicle? |

It would depend on what you are coding whether you can do real damage. To revert back to factory, VO code. For Service Manual, use ISTA+. |

[QUOTE=Almaretto;21145622]When you Right Click Orange CAFD & Select Edit, it is just redirecting you to FDL-Editor. There are not Cheat Codes, especially for options that can be VO coded, for every module. But, make sure to check "Auto Fetch Codes," and clear any filters.
When I added 2VB to the FA, it asked me whether I wanted to transfer the change to Coding (or worded something like that). I was unsure so I said no. If I do that, does it automatically code the necessary modules without going in and editing them? |

I have never seen any wording to that affect. Modifying FA, alone, does not automatically code anything. You most load said FA, activate, and VO code necessary ECU's.

I have added 2VB to my VO, applied the change, calculated FP, clicked on Save, and when I click the Green 'back' arrow, I then get the message window shown. |

That does not have any affect on coding or VCM until changes are pushed through VO coding or VCM section, respectively. EDIT: One option is to leave your FA factory by loading modified FA (Expert Mode > Coding> Vehicle Order) rather than writing changes to VCM. Last edited by Almaretto; 01-20-2017 at 04:39 PM.. |

So if I understand you correctly, saying yes to this pop up is OK? I am trying to follow this video so any variance makes me nervous! http://www.bmwesys.com/guides/Beginn...e%20Coding.pdf Is there an all-inclusive resource for learning this that you can suggest? Thanks for your all your help and especially your patience, Almaretto! |
