I think if you get M sport with standard suspension it's the same as non M sport models...

This is true. Msport line does not come with upgraded suspension and only comes with the standard suspension.
But you can only get the Adaptive M suspension with Msport line by paying additional $950.

Wanted to give you guys an update that I went ahead and ordered a 50i lux line with 3rd row and DHP along with other packages.

In the end it came down to looks vs functionality and I decided to go with functionality. I was gonna go for the no line X5 but decided to upgrade to the lux line with 20" wheels to get the body colored extended flares. Thank you all for your opinions and recommendations!

2014 X5 M sport

Hi guys, Im new to the forum. Im from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

I picked up a 2014 X5 xDrive35i M-Sport this sunday and I am confused as to one thing. How do i know if I have the adaptive M Suspension or not?

The salesman assured me that it does indeed have it but I thought id post here and make sure. This is what my build sheet says (I've attached a picture)

When i go into my iDrive settings for sport, I can configure both the chassis and drive train separately.

You have it based on the build you posted: Adaptive M Suspension. Its the fourth bullet item under the ZXH - M Sport line section. To be 100% sure, you will have to check the functionality in your car. I don't know how, but one of the other forum members in Canada or the States with Adaptive M Suspension will probably chime in soon. Congratulations on getting the X5 35i.

I went from a 2013 E70 50i to a 2015 F15 50i, this X5 is fully loaded with everything but the rear entertainment and 3rd row.

This one drives much better than the E70. I can really put it into the curves.

I have a new F15 M-Sport without suspension upgrades. It's got to go. Handles like an old Buick. I've ordered a replacement with DHP.

So you have 3rd row AND DHP? In my country that's not possible to order.

Don't forget countries like the UK the M Sport version gets the suspension upgrade but not DHP (have to pay extra for that)

My prior X5 was a 2014 xLine diesel with DHP. Ordering my next car in a couple of weeks which will be a 2017 mSport diesel with DHP.

mSport for the look + DHP for the feel + diesel for the torque. Once you have surround view cameras, heads up display and DHP, you can never go back...which is why I never want to drive a Tesla.

I prefer the look of the Msport external body features and the Msport steering wheel but not sure if it's worth sacrificing Dynamic Performance Control + Active Roll Stabilization. Would appreciate any input.
One thing to note is that you can not order MSport with DHP and Third row. I don't think it will matter to you but if I could have ordered it I probably would have sprung for it. I chose to forgo Msport so I can have DHP with the third row. I would definitely recommend skipping Msport so you can have DHP. You can only look at the car so much. Once your behind the wheel I feel that the looks are irrelevant. The difference in the drive is incredible.

I was in a similar situation few months back and decided to get Luxury line, 3rd row seat (which comes std with rear air suspension) and DHP. Love the anti-roll mechanism & Torque vectoring features of DHP and would NOT trade for ANY other feature & will not buy another car without DHP equivalent. I often set & enjoy watching the display monitor for Torque vectoring, that is the transfer of engine torque to different wheels to keep the vehicle stable during turns....

You can confirm it by clicking both drivetrain and chassis under Drive mode > Sports Configure and hit the sport button and drive... you will immediately feel the difference on handling.

Adaptive M Suspension - Stiffer suspension for sporty driving. Enable only when it turns on.

DHP - makes the car more comfortable in comfort mode and sportier in Sport mode. It actives all the time depends on the road condition.

DHP is the way to go, but not a must have when you have a budget. For people who is adding DHP on the shopping list, they must put all the fancy items already. IMO..$80k is too much for a 3.5i.

Can you give us your opinion on the Bang & Olufsen sound system, along with how you like the Night Vision with Pedestrian Detection? Have you found yourself using the ACC Stop & Go quite a bit?

I love the B&O, if you know how to setup the EQ you will love it. You can not overdrive this system at any volume and it will go very loud. I have had several people ask me how much it cost and they gasp until I play some hard rock for them at near max volume and they all have said "how can it be so clear at that volume level"

Living in a rural area in the south I love the night vision system. It warns me about Deer quite often. I know it has saved me from hitting a few, that I am sure of. As for the Pedestrian Detection, it works very well. Severl times it has warned me of a pedestrian and I would not have seen them until I was very close to them.

I use the ACC Stop & Go on a daily basis. By far one of my favorite features. Not having to adjust the cruse control all the time and how in city traffic I can just let it do all the driving for me keeps me happy.

I know it wasn't "designed" for this but it sure makes it nice that I do not have to worry about rear ending someone if I glance down at my phone or the stereo.

The one issue is if you have it set and there are no cars to match speed with & you approach a stopped vehicle at a traffic light it will brake pretty hard when it detects the vehicle to slow down and come to a stop.

It has worked flawless, & if you have to deal with bumper to bumper traffic for miles it is great. just let it handle the driving....

No. E70 handles like a 3 series. F15 handles like a 7 series.

honestly not so absurd. maybe a bit histericaly said but me coming from E70 to F15 with adaptive M, I'm very diaspointed by the sport mode, its still very soft and very unpleasantly wobbly in very high speeds on the autobahn compared to the E70 which was rock solid stiff, like on train tracks and 180+km/h (over 100miles/h)
having said that the comfort mode is very very nice on the F15.
