Is that Normal?

Hi Guys,

I've got yet another question, so I'm driving around the neighborhood and I decided to put the Car in Sport Mode. After I put it into sport or sport+ it immediately shifts back into Comfort. Is that Normal?

Definitely not normal. Sport+ stays on when you switch to it.

That's really weird. I even put it into EcoPro and the same thing happened. About 5 or 10 Seconds and it goes back to Comfort. Usually goes back into Comfort when I drive off.

Did you do any coding work prior to the problems you're having? If so, did ECU give you a suspension error? You need to clear the error first otherwise the system is going to switch you back to Comfort mode.

Nope! No Coding at all!

Did you buy it brand new? If so, visit your local dealer and have them sort the issue(s) out. Make use of your warranty while you have em. Good luck and keep us posted.

Yeah, I bought it brand new. I'll take it in ASAP and have them take a look.

They should take care of it. It's probably just the switch that just need replacing. Did anyone spill anything on the switches?

No. However, I did take it to get washed the other day, but I didn't see anything spill on it.

If the car wash staff did spill anything they will make every attempt to conceal it rather than say anything to you. Kinda sad but that's human nature nowadays. Try one more thing, try to reset your tire pressure via iDrive and try it again.

m_alnimah , did you have anything done to your car?
I have had experienced it on my 650GC when I removed the suspension and change to a coilover but didn't disable the EDC properly. But after I decoded the EDC completely, everything is back to normal.

Oh Yeah, I forgot to mention I've got Low Tire Pressure. But I've been experiencing this a few days before that.

I'm quite sure they didn't spill anything because I was with them the whole time.

im pretty sure its low tire pressure, i guess it doesn't want u driving more "spirited" while your tires are not inflated properly? i had this issue in another bmw where it wouldn't even allow you to switch the driving mode

Had this problem in the past when the CEL was on, wouldn't allow the vehicle to move into Sport/Sport+ modes.

I got the car checked out, apparently it's the tire pressure issue, I also discovered I need to get my Right Passenger Tire replaced due to a bubble appearing on the side... Yay...
