Bang&Olufsen center speaker replacement...would you do it?

Just wondering if you guys would do this....would changing out the center speaker alone improve sound quality?

I'm sure it will give it an ever so slight boost to some frequencies. But just one speaker wont make anything better as the sound wont match the other speakers and would probably make it sound weird.

Not sure on the price....I was thinking the same thing as it would not match other speakers.

Sounds kind of pointless, no pun intended.

Unless you want to upgrade purely for the aesthetics, mismatched tweeters = bad sound.

have listened to both harmon kardon and b&o back to back in my f15 and dealer f85 they let me borrow....and neither is amazing to be honest. both very good and minimal differences. my old e90 with logic 7 blew them out of the water

Comes down to personal preference I think, but a matched system is going to give you the best performance. Would be the same as having mis-matched speakers in your home theatre. My HK with Logic 7 sounds great IMO, although I can't compare it to that of an E70.

no. buy it from the factory or just upgrade what is already there but don't retrofit a b&o system.

Just changing one speaker isn't going to improve the sound. It might do the opposite, throwing off the balance.

B&O costs $10k in Australia, so while this alternative might seem attractive, I can't imagine it would work out well at all.

Center speaker doesn't help much in regular music listening. But it will are into crisp voice oriented music listening, it will help. But then in order to do that, your music should be played loud and I'm not sure if you are that type of a person.

Thanks all for the feedback. Just bought Focal K2 KRX2's for my X5. Not going with B&O for center but this should improve my sound quality for sure.

Check out my other post...will upload pics.
