Chassis function restricted warning message on new F15

I bought a new X5 (F15) two months ago. The car is an "M" Sport with Dynamic Handling and Adaptive M suspension. The car was running fine until last week when the Idrive showed a "chassis function restricted" warning light. My understanding is the suspension in sport + driving mode is not working.
I took the car in to the dealer and they claim to have to order a module from Germany to replace a defective unit.
Has anyone had experience with this particular problem? I'm frustrated that I'm having problems with a car that was bought new two months ago, and equally worried that the mechanic will be chasing ghosts trying to figure out the real problem.
I love driving a BMW X5, but have had terrible experience with car reliability over the past 5 years. I traded in my 2010 X5 primarily because of maintenance issues. I got a brand new 2016 and it looks like I'm in for the same experience with getting my car to the shop.

Sucks to have a failure like that so early. I've got you beat, my CEL came on in the first 2 mins of driving my F15, on my drive from the dealer to the bank to get the money order for payment. Needless to say, I was not impressed. Just be thankful that the vehicle is still driveable.

I am getting a similar message. I get a "chassis warning" and then it says something to the effect: "gently pull over, turn off engine and call roadside assistance." Thinking this was some sort of sensor problem, I pulled over, turned off the engine and restarted it. The message went away. Sadly, it has now given me the warning two more times so, I guess I have some issue and will have to take it in. I ordered my X5 new. It is a 2016 50i with DHP and adaptive M suspension. I took delivery back in November 2015.

Finally all sorted now, they change a unit called: Control unit for VDC (rear), part no: 37146875827 . Take 5 hours plus to change and recoding the car. All coding done by myself is all gone, now I need recoding it again.

Glad you got it sorted. Now time to re-code your custom options.

Well, in response to my prior post, I took mine into the dealer and they found that it was low on power steering fluid (I guess because I have active steering it has hydraulic fluid). The dealer also had to give it a software update. I have had zero troubles since and I swear it runs so much better with the software update!
