Longtime forum guy, new to me F15d

Figured I'd drop in here and post my new to me F15. I'll admit right now, I'm terrible at keeping up with these threads, so I'm not going to call this a build thread.

Anyway, picked up a lower mile (56K) 2018 X5d about 6 weeks ago. Been searching for about 4 months and found the perfect match and absolutely love it! The purpose of the X5 was to have a future tow vehicle for my E82 track car. Track car is Carbon Black, so of course X5 had to match.

Spec:
2018 Individual
Carbon Black/Nutmeg Extended Merino Leather
M Sport Package
Driving Assistance
Driving Assistance Plus
Executive Package

I think it has just about every option except B&O Sound, Rear Seat Entertainment and cooled front seats, which I don't think was an option with the Nutmeg Individual option.

I was fortunate in that the EGR cooler and CP4 pump were both just done under recall at about 51K miles. Otherwise its gotten standard dealer maintenance. In pretty good shape, and plans are to keep it for a long time.

Since I've bought I've had the front windows tinted to match the rears, done a full compound and ceramic coating, and just today I installed the Stealth hitch with active harness. What a nice product, excited to start towing!

Other plans are to do the full F85 X5M brake retrofit. I've got the fronts on hand already, and will be doing the Cbozz rear brake upgrade soon. I'm also slowly collecting parts for the full ABC delete. From there, she'll be done.

Will get some better pictures when I finish detailing the interior, but here's a few randoms for now. And a shot of the track car, just because.

Thanks man! Loving the E82, I feel its the perfect car, and having the S65 in mine just makes it that much more fun.

Haha!! Nope, I only want to make it reliable and ready to tow/roadtrip. Brake upgrade, tow setup, full delete. I could MAYBE do a set of wheels, but honestly I like the factory 469s.

Yeah, likewise, I was shocked to find it. Had never even heard of it to be honest.

Absolutely, everyone that has ridden in the car has said the same; “This is what the 1M should’ve been!”

Snap a picture of the dust shields when you replace the front brakes; many ask if the M ones are larger, and side by side picture would be very beneficial.

For sure will do. I have the M dust shields as well, so I’ll grab some photos. I guess this means I have to get my ass in gear and do the swap. 🤣

Well, I said I was terrible at keeping up with these threads, but am going to make an honest effort, so here's an update.

I had a track day in Miami (100 miles away) a few weeks ago and got the hitch installed, so I pushed ahead and threw on the front brakes (F85 6 pistons).

WOW, what an improvement, and one that was desperately needed. For those asking about comparisons, see the below pictures... smyles check the dust shield photos. Stock vs. F85. Pedal feel, initial bite, and ability to slow the rig quickly are immensely better than before.

My only complaint? I think the factory blue clashes with the Carbon Black. Will have the calipers redone in red at some point, likely when I get the rear set.

Lastly, please excuse the FILTHY vehicle... Lots of rain in FL.
