F15 BDC/Fuse Box Access
Does anyone know how to access the fuse box that contains fuses No. 1 to 14 on a LFH 2014 X5? The fuse box diagram that comes with the car shows that this fuse box (also called Body Domain Controller or BDC) is buried somewhere on the exterior side of the passenger footwell under the carpet. Can someone share photos or a video of how to get to that box properly without ruining the carpet?

Do you need to access fuse 1-14 or do you need to do something to the BDC (body domain controller) which is a control module?
The fuse nbrs that you mentioned are built into the BDC...so use the instructions RED_Y_ posted to access either fuse 1-14 or the BDC. See additional pics below for the location of f1-f14 (fuse 1- fuse 14) that are in the BDC module:

Thank you RED_Y_ and Qsilver7 for the detailed instructions.
The reason I need access to the BDC is to check Fuses number 3, 7, and 12. My car suddenly stopped detecting both of my keys (both have new batteries) and I need to check all the fuses that are associated with door locking/unlocking (3, 7, 12, 19, 126, 134, 155, 156). I checked all the ones in the fuse boxes under the dash and in the trunk but I need access to the BDC in order to check 3,7, and 12. Some had suggested on other forums that there might be a blown fuse associated with the diversity antenna. Once I gain enough confidence and order some backup clips, I'll attempt the instructions RED_Y_ posted and see how it goes. |

Ahhh...thanks for the update. If you do get to those fuses and find that they are all still intact...I remember a thread not to long ago where the remote keys lost the ability to remotely lock/unlock and the issue ended up being the remote control receiver. It is mounted on the right side of the cargo area behind the panel.
It is A203 in the illustration below...and there was also a video on youtube that showed how to access & replace it:

yea, our cars have a BDC in place of an FEM. Serves a similar purpose.
