Kzang's 2015 F15 Space Grey Msport Build
Hi All,
I thought I would share it here and get some others feedback. So my lease is coming to an end in April 2015 for my 2013 X5... so I'm getting ready to order my next X5. Current build is as follows: X5 35i Xdrive - $56,200 M-Sport - $4,500 Exterior: Space Gray Metallic - $550 Interior: Mocha Dakota Leather Wood Trim: Fineline Oak Wood Trim Cold Weather Pkg - $550 Drivers Assistance Plus - $1,900 *Drivers Assistance Package - $1,400 Dynamic Handling Package - $3,600 Lighting Package - $1,900 Adaptive M Suspension - $900 Premium Package - $2,550 Enhanced USB and Bluetooth plus Smartphone Integration - $500 Harmon Kardon Sound - $875 Space Saver Tire - $150 Destination and Handling - $950 Total MSRP as built - $76,525 When I tried to click on Multi-Contour Seats the BMW build webpage would add nappa leather instead of Dakota Leather and added an additional $1,950 for contrast stitching? I don't really care for this. I found out later that I am not able to get the MC seats with Mocha color. So I am not sure which color leather I want now. Also can some of you guide me in the options to get the best of my build? I am not 100% familiar or confident with the F15 options compared to the E70. Only thing I am sure on the options is DHP, multi contour seats, and Adaptive M suspension. All others I am not. Thanks in Advanced... Took delivery yesterday and my wife made a video of it : Last edited by Kzang; 01-22-2017 at 06:06 PM.. |

Your build is very similar to mine and I will be ordering in April or May also. I had the same issue with Mocha Dakota and Sport package. To get MC seats, you will have to select Mocha Nappa instead and this adds the Mocha Interior Design package for $1950. I was at a dealership yesterday to look at the Mocha Nappa interior on a 50i M Sport. The leather looks really nice and the stitching on the seats looks nice in person. I am not really a fan of the leather dash but it looks good too. The only gripe I have about the interior is the black plastic looking panel that sits just below the wood (or aluminum) trim in the dash, which is more pronounced and visible on the front passenger side.
I personally think that Space Gray would go well with either Mocha or Black interior. I don't like black, so Mocha Nappa will be my choice. I haven't seen the Terra Dakota on the X5, but it seems to have too much of an orange hue for me to even consider it as an option. The only thing I will pull from your build is the Enhanced USB and Bluetooth plus Smartphone Integration - $500. Opasha (a great forum member here) has confirmed that this can be coded and allows you to have more space in that compartment. So, skip this one. Below is my build ########## BASE MSRP - $56,200 M Sport - $4,500 Space Gray Metallic - $550 Mocha Nappa Leather - $0 Fineline Oak Wood Trim - $0 Cold Weather Package - $550 Driver Assistance Plus - $1,900 Driver Assistance Package - $1,400 Dynamic Handling Package - $3,600 Lighting Package - $1,900 Adaptive M Suspension - $900 Multi-contour seats - $950 Mocha Interior Design Package - $1,950 Premium Package - $2,550 Rear manual side window shades - $250 Harman Kardon surround sound system - $875 Space-saver spare - $150 Destination & Handling: $950 Total MSRP as Built - $77,275 ############## I plan to have some mods done once I get the car: 1. The kidney grills will go to black 2. The stock wheels will go to 22 inch staggered with custom paint 3. RaceChip Ultimate will be installed 4. There will be splitters in the front lower grills, 5. 6WB Digital instrument cluster will be installed to replace 6WA 6. Carbon tint of the front windows 7. Coding for the car with the help of Opasha All the best with your order and keep us posted on your final decision. I will keep everyone updated on my build as well. Very shortly, you will get additional opinions from more experienced forum members. Last edited by Babs; 02-24-2015 at 04:45 AM.. |

Sweet Build Check out the discussion regarding the 6WB cluster, I think we are able to have it installed now by the dealer ( not 100% sure though ).
I will also change out the grill to gloss black. Thanks for the info. |

Thanks for the feedback. Questions still out there on 6WB and dealer retrofit. I am hoping we can clear this up shortly. Expecting to hear from the dealers I contacted soon.

As far as seats go, I had same dilemma. Either I could the vented seats in black Dakota, or get the non vented in mocha or terra. I went with vented and black Dakota, not so much for the vented option, more so for the look of the perforated leather.

Picked it up this morning... It snowed a good amount yesterday so it made for a messy drive home Don't mind the dealer badge.. I already took it off
I am surprised on the steering it is not as numb or "loose" as I expected it to be... perhaps the Adaptive M suspension has something to do with it... Steering feedback is not too bad and it is precise as others have stated. |

I want to congratulate you on your purchase, like really! Last night I saw the thread, could not answer on the phone (the app said NO reply feature at this moment). Anyways, your initial build was what I chose (space gray and mocha dakota, http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...=943569&page=2 ), but youv've changed it for the terra and MC seats, good decision. I regret not having MC but loooove my seat color, we will never know what I would actually do if I ordered again for the same cost. Great car, looks awesome and thanks for the video and the photos!

Thanks all! The leather color is Terra Dakota. It is similar to my previous X5 interior but not as orange in color. The Terra is more brown.

If you have a moment to get some more shots of the terra interior that accurately represent the true color of terra I would really appreciate it. Everything I've seen looks very orange orv very *poop* brown. Would you say it's similar to the color of an nfl football?
I'm debating between terra with the mc seats or cognac w/o mc seats (not available in that color/config) for my x6 order. |
