I am amazed how much negative exterior design review F15 is getting. I believe a nice looking vehicle should look good not only in person but also in pictures.

It looks okay, the back is a bit messed up thought. NOT as good as the outgoing model!

Porsche, until you put some options on it and see the final price you will look exactly like So you will end up with BMW because it makes more sense.

I'm really starting to think BMW's biggest failures lately are with its press. Whoever decided to pick the ugliest colors and ugliest wheels available for these photo shoots should be fired. I think the car will look better in person, with proper colors and wheels, as other pictures have mostly shown. |

I saw both in person, and I must say, I honestly don't understand why BMW makes the non-M so plain (not just for the X5, but many others). I saw both the non-M and M-sport in real life, and wow does the M-sport look incredible. The standard non-M one looked fine but it's too typical-looking, not very unique like BMWs are. A 3-series or 5er stands out from the crowd, but at a quick glance this looks not better than an average SUV. I cannot say whether I like the E70 or this (M-version) better, they both look good in their own ways.
AS for the many who the say the rear is too X3-like, think about it. BMW obviously is on that design path, and if you have noticed all the models have slightly similar design aspects, very subtle but to us BMW lovers you can see some resemblance. The new X5 is nice, but not something that catches my eye or makes me look twice. The M-sport is quite nice, and I bet the X5M will look great, not to mention a modded X5 (M-sport or M), but for me, I have always loved Range Rovers when it comes to SUVs. Even though the new Sport borrows a few too many features from the Evoque, it pulls it off quite well and I can't not like it.

This. Looks like I will be keeping my x5M though. The price increase along with what is sure to be a less of a driver's car means I do not see the point in a new one. I would go Cayenne GTS over the x5 5.0 at what appears to be 85k loaded. BTW...just built a Cayenne GTS the way I would want it and it is 95k. BMW is really closing the gap on Porsche and I added some stuff in there that I could do without. Could probably get it at 90k....

Q7 is a whale.
The F15 looks compact next to it imo.

It needs the Msport package to look decent. This is just so wrong.

Which part exactly? All large SUV's have the same basic shape. This new X5 looks like an evolution of the old X5 and to my eyes nothing like a Jeep. I like it a lot. The price on the other hand.....not so much.

Previous generation is much more sportier or I would say euro design vs this one looks like a GM version. Not sportier as the rear looks like a wagon. Wheels look small and tires not wide enough. The previous version v8 with sports package lookedamazing but this is just big and bloated not much muscle or attitude.

Same as with most "new" BMWs: hate them at first, then you cannot wait to get your hands one one eventually. I thought the same thing with the last two 7-series.

Looks more like a Minivan over anything I have seen from BMW in the past. Still hoping in person it will be a bit more stunning but now Im just thinking re badged Grand Caravan. The best X5 is still the 1st gen one.
