Carly OBD Coding

Hello,

Has anyone recently used Carly to do some coding on a F15? Have you had success? Any tips? Can you code while driving or do you have to sit in driveway with engine running?

Haven’t done it before but would like to try it out. I like the restore function if something goes wrong with ECU.

Unless something changed Carly has very limited coding capabilities on F15, your best bet is Bimmercode or E-Sys.

I've used Carly to code some auto open/close windows when locking or unlocking. Disabled tons of the popup warnings, adjusted the startup splash screen. Ive only done stuff while parked with the engine on, wouldnt think its ever a good idea to code while driving

It's not. Half the modules reboot on most coding choices, and the engine will stall.

I haven't done much with Carly for coding, but I have used BimmerCode in regular and expert mode - works fine for most things.

It doesn't look like the KAFAS is available in BimmerCode...I think that's a known? Some kind of security thing? I don't know...

Carly sucks. Use BimmerCode instead.

Hi y'all, im fairly new here. I was looking into getting Carly for more diagnostic reasons and maybe some coding here and there. Couple questions,
1. Does Bimmercode have diagnostics that are on Carly's level?
2. Is it wireless like Carly?

Any input is great. Thanks

Both apps mentioned (Bimmercode & Bimmerlink) have websites that you can check out the product. You can even download a DEMO version which shows how the app functions etc (you can't do any actual coding, though until you pay).

There are also lots of videos on youtube that shows the simplicity of using these "sister" apps...just type their name in the search box on the youtube website:
  1. www.bimmercodeapp.com
  2. www.bimmerlink.app
