- BMW discontinues all Diesel after 2018 in the USA -

Seems like the F15 will be one of the last BMW Diesel along with some 3 and 5series...

Plan is to redirect resources and produce 25 Electrified vehicles by 2025, 12 full electric.

just got a 2018 F15 Diesel and I was told by my dealership that the next diesel for the X5 will be model year 2020. Can't verify the accuracy of this statement though...

Oh, I forgot. I'm in Canada.

I'm surprised Canada is "behind" on this movement... Will be interesting to see if they will bring the G05 Diesel Version to Canada. I know Europe is big on "removing" Diesels from
It's roads as of late...

maybe just a sales talk from the sales man to get me to take the plunge.
Hopefully, I will be able to afford an electric/hybrid suv on my next truck...

Well that sucks, IMO no phev or hybrid will ever come close to it’s consistency in efficiency and power delivery, looks like I’ll have to hold on to my x5 35d

Can't say I feel good about this one, it's one of the main reasons I got my X5 was the diesel. I might be going back to Land Rover on my next car if I can't find a used CPO 2018 X5 diesel in 3 to 4 years when I'm ready to give up my 2015 35d.

I do not understand why they stop making Diesel car. They concern about safety or something else.

Diesel are naturally hard to control its emissions, been over 11 yrs since SCR/DPF was introduced and a new emission system is needed for our more stringent regulations. Also VW has tainted diesel reputability of been cleen and the niche market for diesel in US is the other reasons why they're ditching diesel.

The same here in Canada. Moreover what they offer for us here in North America is ridiculous - 328d is actually 320d in Europe, 540d is 530d and X5 35d is X5 30d.

Yeah I know... pretty messed up... but still happy with my 35d... though if there was a bigger diesel engine I would have gotten that...

I was choosing between 35d and 35i... Decided that 35d got not enough power after the test drive...

Not surprised. It’s a shame that diesel is getting hit left and right.

There maybe one benefit with this in the US, and that's the value of your existing diesels will hold once they stop making them.
Here in the UK there is so much bad press about diesel emissions, that it is already affecting future second hand resale values.
So when I decide to sell my M50d I may ship it over to the US to get a better price
