Backup camera and CarPlay upgrade

I have a 2016 X5 (F15) and I am looking to add a back up camera and possibly integrate Apple CarPlay. Does anyone have some suggestions on the hardware and tips? Hoping to retain all the original manufacturer functions as well.

I would look at something from Bimmer-tech if it were me. You'll pay more than some of the junk from China out there, but they offer an OEM backup camera (as well as some non-OEM options) to best integrate with your current 'original manufacturer functions,' full online support, and if you wish, they have local (in many cases at least, especially if living in/near a major city) certified shops if you would prefer someone else do the install.

Plug in your VIN at the link below to see the different options. Typically if you buy 1 product like a backup camera, they'll offer you a nice discount if adding something else in, such as Apple CarPlay. Their online chat feature (hand waving in the lower right corner at the link below) is also helpful at providing quick answers to any questions you have.

Good luck... I still can't believe there are F15's out there w/o a backup camera from the factory...

If you have nbtevo its possible to enable carplay.
For reverse camera, it would be easier to get aftermarket units. For OEM reverse camera you would need to do some wiring and get the correct parts.
