We have this one for the 7er and the leather one for the X5. The leather one has stood up to tons of abuse over 2 years. After a year, the one pictured above broke. The blue thread bar's allen-head snapped off right where it exits the beveled retaining flange on the backside (against the body of the fob cover). Cheap aluminum part. Of course, you can't just buy a new piece...gotta buy the whole fob cover.

This gets the job done and doesn't make the fob much bulkier.
