No Signal on Head Unit

Hi All,
Looking for any advice regarding the No Signal message on the head unit.

Looking at other posts, many seem to be intermittent and disappear after some time, however, this is not the case for me. Others have mentioned units being replaced under warranty, however, mine is now out of warranty.

Bimmercode indicates there is no response from the head unit.

I have checked the 2 fuses related to the head unit and they are ok.

The head unit warms up to touch, so it would seem it is getting power.

Holding down the power button (also the power and eject buttons) to initiate a reset does nothing.

I've disconnected the battery for an extended time to perhaps trigger a reset.

The front panel and navigation buttons all light up as expected with headlights, and ventilation functions as normal.

I can find a replacement head unit, however, I believe it needs to be programmed to the car by the dealer, and i would like to be more certain of the issue before spending money if the issue could be related to something else I have not thought of as yet.

Have you tried other apps to see if the HU responds? If it still responds you can try flashing the unit and see if it helps.

Connect to the car. In coding tab under expert mode, Read SVT Actual using READ ECU button. Check if you NBT or NBTevo under the svt tree on the left.

ok finally got the cable to work. There was a C105 error reading VCM - not sure if that's anything to be concerned with. Read ECU was ok.

Here is a list of ecu's that it found . I don't see either in the SVT Tree., However from pulling the headunit out, i know its a NBT HU.

Any other ideas ?

The issue just happened by itself, we were not doing anything at the time and we hadn't removed HU before the issue. Have since pull it out to check connections etc.

You should use read ECU since this reads the current modules present.
If the HU doesn't appears then it means the HU isn't communication. First check power supply to the hu.

You can get any tool to read. Or use esys and see if HU is communicating.
