Connect by VIN is grayed out.

I have a very similar setup to PlayTookies; MacBook Air with Parallels running a Windows 10 VM. I have a new Plugable USB-Ethernet adapter. When I launch E-Sys and try to connect, the 'Connect by VIN' is grayed out and is not selectable. Any ideas on what I may be doing wrong? |

Psdzdata is just there so you can interpret your vehicle files. Updating is only necessary if Service flash programs vehicle to higher level then you have installed. Quote:

I installed the drivers for the adapter and it shows up as operating properly in Device Manager.
I'll try to use it for internet connection and report back. Thank you. ************************************************** ************** UPDATE No problem accessing internet within the Windows VM so adapter and cabling are fine. Should I do a fresh install of E-Sys? Any other suggestions? Last edited by bms5; 11-19-2016 at 02:31 PM.. Reason: Update: |

Hello,
Quick question about folding mirrors on CA. I changed all the suggested settings, and from key works instant, on CA still have to hold for a second or so. Is that expected, I understood that there was no delay any more when set KOMFORT_SCHLIESSEN to 00. |

Every vehicle is slightly different. There is not a separate initiation delay for CA and keyFOB. For me, CA just feels like I have to hold a 1/2 to full second longer because it is a firm press compared to physical button.

So, I might be overthinking this once again, but I have a last question on best practices.
Yesterday I coded a lot of stuff, somethings are not working, but they are not crucial and were just nice to have, few examples are zoom on turns navi and temp along with PSI for tires. Maybe they will start working ? But if they dont is it best to revert the settings on those items ? Or it does hurt to leave them as is now? |

The tire pressure/temperature should be working immediately. If it's not, I would recheck your coding and/or recode the setting. |

I`ll check Zoom again with the split screen while driving. The tire pressure/temp I changed was this HU_NBT 3001 RDC_DRUCK_TEMP to druck_und_temperatur. I`ll double check it again, but besides that, if something does not work via coding is the best practice to revert back to original settings or is it ok to leave it ? |

I would check your coding. I'd be willing to bet you goofed up and when you read your ECM, your going to see that some of the coding you thought you did isn't actually saved to the vehicle.

Removing disclaimers speeds up boot time. There are also additional settings for HUD and head unit boot time. But, the thing that takes the most time is the initialization of GPS; other menus work fine in the meantime.
